We were blessed with both good weather and good attendance for the 2017 St Chad’s Tennis Club Open Afternoon on Sunday 9th July – click on the image below to view a gallery of images from the event. Thanks to all current, new and prospective members who came along to make it such an enjoyable afternoon.
The Barkston Ash mixed team is still riding high and remains undefeated this season after some hard fought and very close matches, many played in the drizzle when our new court surface has stood up well!
The medley A team continues to do well after promotion to division 1 this season although a couple of losses – one at Grove Hill and one at home to Chapel Allerton – have seen the team slip off the top of the table.
Men’s B retained their place in Division 5 of the Leeds league. They have had a mixed start to the season but already an improvement on the previous year. They started the win with a 6-2 victory at Adel, followed up by 2 defeats to Dacre Banks and Horsforth. Results have improved since then and we have had a respectable draw at Roundhay then a great 8-0 win at table toppers Alwoodley. We currently sit mid table.
The Ladies team retained their place in division 2 and have played 3 matches so far this year. There were close defeats in the first two matches against Whitkirk B and Chapel Allerton B and a draw against Pool.
With 12 matches overall there is plenty of opportunity for play so please contact Jill (email@example.com) if interested or for more information.
And the winners are: Adam Cresswell, Trish Cohen, Penny Rice, Jane Hall and Stuart McFarlane. Congratulations and we hope you have a brilliant day.

We had a warm afternoon for our American mixed tournament on 20th May which was played on our new court surface. Sophie provided welcome sustenance with her legendary raspberry and chocolate brownies. The overall winners after a closely fought contest were Emma Shaw and Neil Graham, congratulations to both of them.
